A project that truly pushed creativity and craftsmanship to the next level.

For a private client in Oman, Oliver Knights were commissioned to design and manufacture a series of fully bespoke joinery handles. The brief was ambitious, incorporating leather inlays, mosaic detailing, and mother of pearl into the pulls, all protected with a specialist coating to withstand the regional climate and environmental exposure.

The client supplied their own leather, which introduced another layer of complexity. In Oman’s climate, temperature fluctuations and humidity can cause natural materials like leather to expand and contract. We had to carefully engineer a method to inlay the leather which would prevent this from happening.

This wasn’t simply about aesthetics. It was about precision engineering behind the scenes.

Every detail was considered:

• Material compatibility

• Managing expansion and contraction

• Environmental durability

• Long-term performance

• Tactile balance and weight

Projects like this are why we love what we do, collaborating closely with designers and private clients globally to turn ambitious concepts into functional architectural hardware.

We regularly support bespoke projects across the Middle East and internationally, working alongside local partners to provide boots-on-the-ground support when needed.

If you’re working on something that requires thinking beyond a standard catalogue solution, we would love to connect.
