Case Study: Bespoke Walk-In-Wardobe
Case Study: Laura Hammett, London
Partner: SDS London
When exceptional interior design demands something truly individual, bespoke becomes essential.
For this private residential project, London-based interior designer Laura Hammett approached Oliver Knights to develop a completely custom solution for a walk-in wardrobe. The brief required a refined yet striking detail: two separate oval pad pulls that would sit independently on adjacent doors, aligning perfectly to form one complete oval when closed.
The result is both subtle and architectural. Individually, each pull is elegant and understated. Together, they create a single sculptural form, a seamless oval that transforms a functional element into a focal design feature.
Precision was critical. The alignment, proportion, and fixing positions had to be engineered meticulously to ensure the two components met flawlessly. Manufactured from solid brass in our Birmingham workshop, the pulls were crafted to deliver both visual harmony and reassuring weight in hand.
This project reflects our approach to bespoke work: not simply modifying an existing design, but collaborating closely with the designer to realise a concept with technical integrity and enduring quality.
At Oliver Knights, we welcome commissions that challenge convention. If you can imagine it, we will explore how to engineer it, properly.
